Real quick, an update to my summer schedule. I will no longer be appearing at Squonkapalooza on August 1st. If you were planning on going to see me, you should definitely still go, you just won’t be able to see me! Hopefully we’ll be back next year, because it truly is an awesome event.
(I already announced this over on my mailing list, so you should totally sign up if you want to be the first to know things like this!)
Second, if you’re anywhere near the Willoughby, OH area, I would strongly recommend taking a visit to The Viridian Bookshop soon. They’re my favorite local(ish) bookstore, and they’ve been working really hard to make an awesome third space that is filled with cool books and bookish things, fun events, and fantastic people. Unfortunately, Google AI has been playing silly buggers with them. For about a month, it has been showing the store as permanently closed in search results. This is not true, and it has caused a real hurt for them. Here’s a Facebook post from them explaining the situation.
I would encourage local people to go shop, check out their events and offerings, and give them some cheer while they fight this. AI is stupid and every day gives me another reason to be mad about it.
