Nature’s timing is impeccable. I got ready to take a walk, opened the door, and it started raining.

Little toad outside was enjoying it, at least!
Once it stopped, I did manage to make my way to a park near one of the kids’ schools. It has some good open spaces and is within very easy walking distance, so the school often uses it for field day and other activities. Today, however, I’m assuming because of the rain and the absolute humidity that constantly fogged up my glasses, the park was pretty deserted.
Well, people deserted.
(My college roommate and other people who are afraid of squirrels might want to skip the rest of this post.)
There was fog rising off the path when I arrived. It was very atmospheric, although I could have done with it being way less humid and just a little less hot.

My Pokemon buddy was having a good time, anyway.

Speaking of Pokemon, this dude beat me like three times. It was very embarrassing.

I don’t like you, Leader Cliff.
Aside from many Pokemon and stupid Team Rocket people, there were so many squirrels at the park. This black squirrel was posing very nicely for me.

These two were having a bit of an argy-bargy, but my approach startled them enough that I could grab a picture. They started up again as I walked away and there was definitely some tension.

There’s a playground in this park, and a war memorial, but honestly I was mostly interested in the squirrels.

The sun came out on my last lap and I got this excellent squirrel jumping shot.

I’ve noted before that I like living so close to different parks and places to walk. I also enjoy that there is wildlife in these parks. I mean, I really like being five minutes from Aldi, but I was raised in the country and it makes me happy to see critters.
This walk was accompanied by Let’s Get Haunted episode 226: Helltown, Ohio. (I almost bailed after the first five minutes when Nat pronounced Akron as “Aye-kron”, like with an /eɪ/ as in “ape”. I know they’re both from California so I’m going to forgive them for mangling the pronunciation of Cuyahoga, but Akron? Really?)
