I had a completely different walk planned for today. I was going to visit a nearby historical site – the event it commemorates recently had an anniversary, and I was going to ruminate on that event and on current events and take lots of nice somber pictures.
There were three things that kept this from happening.
- This historical site is on a college campus, and it is finals week/move out week for the students.
- There is very little public parking on said campus and in all the student hubbub I was too flustered to try to figure out where I could park.
- My brain, overwhelmed by #1 and #2, was a traitor and panicked and I just drove away.
So maybe that post will happen at a different time when I can get my act together.
I stopped at a park between my original destination and home, and it was a much better experience. Absolutely gorgeous weather, not too many people on a very scenic path, and the smell! Very springy, very floral.

Yes, this is a trail for children. I was still flustered and this was the first trail I could find. I promise I’ll go back and look for a grownup trail another time.

Another Little Free Library! I’ll be back with goodies for you!
Did I mention there was a big lake for me to enjoy?

I took this picture, walked a little further down the path, and then noticed across the lake…

BLIMP TIME!
This is honestly one of my favorite things about living where I do. The Goodyear Blimp lives here. You’ll just be driving and hey, there it is in the sky, like a beautiful floating whale. Or, like on this walk, you’ll be minding your own business and WHAM. Blimp time.

To be honest, most of the rest of my pictures are just framing the blimp in different ways.

Although I will show you this adorable little bridge.
