Nonsense For Hire

Walk Wednesday – 4/16/25

My daughter has been trying out Girl Scouts this year. She’s the social butterfly of my family; while the rest of us are very happy to stay home and not talk to people, she gets restless and wants to “go somewhere and DO something”.

This weekend the Greater Cleveland Aquarium hosted a Girl Scouts day, and despite having to get up way too early on a Saturday to get there, I think we had a good time.

It’s not a super large aquarium but we did *a lot* of walking. We ended up going through the whole thing about three times. It gave me lots of chances to take pictures!

This is a curl crested aracari and I liked his face.

Happy little guy!

The building is very industrial and incorporates a lot of cool elements in its displays. I really enjoyed these little eels peeking out of these pipes.

One of the cool things at the Cleveland Aquarium is the shark tube. It’s super neat to walk through and see the animals swimming above you and beside you. At first my daughter wasn’t too sure about it, but then yes, we had to go through it twice more.

Majestic and terrifying. Look at those *teeth*.

Podcast update: No podcast listening on this walk, obviously, but on the drive to the aquarium we listened to the Steven Universe soundtrack and on the drive home we listened to the Hadestown soundtrack.
